vient le temps de l&rsquo;acclamation qui pr\u00e9c\u00e8de l&rsquo;\u00e9vangile. Pour toute l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e, c&rsquo;est le chant de l&rsquo;All\u00e9luia qui sert d&rsquo;acclamation, sauf pendant le car\u00eame o\u00f9 un simple verset en tient lieu <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83c\udfb6\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t78\/1.5\/16\/1f3b6.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loin d&rsquo;\u00eatre un simple chant servant \u00e0 occuper les fid\u00e8les pendant la mise en place de la procession de l&rsquo;\u00c9vangile, \u00ab ce genre d&rsquo;acclamation constitue un rite ou un acte <a><\/a>ayant valeur en lui-m\u00eame, par lequel l&rsquo;assembl\u00e9e des fid\u00e8les accueille le Seigneur qui va leur parler dans l&rsquo;\u00c9vangile, le salue et professe sa foi en chantant \u00bb, comme le dit la Pr\u00e9sentation g\u00e9n\u00e9rale du missel romain <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83d\udcda\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/ta2\/1.5\/16\/1f4da.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chant\u00e9 par les h\u00e9breux qui ponctuaient ainsi certains psaumes, l&rsquo;All\u00e9luia est aussi pr\u00e9sent dans le livre de l&rsquo;Apocalypse, proclam\u00e9 par les anges et la foule des \u00e9lus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&rsquo;est donc assez naturellement qu&rsquo;il est pass\u00e9 dans la liturgie. Apparu d&rsquo;abord dans les rites des \u00c9glises d&rsquo;orient, il fut introduit dans la liturgie romaine au IV\u00e8me si\u00e8cle par le pape saint Damase. \u00c0 partir de son introduction \u00e0 Rome, son emploi semble avoir vari\u00e9 : r\u00e9serv\u00e9 au jour de P\u00e2ques, puis chant\u00e9 en tout temps, il fallut attendre le pontificat de saint Gr\u00e9goire le grand, \u00e0 la charni\u00e8re des VI\u00e8me et VII\u00e8me si\u00e8cles, pour que cet illustre pape \u00e9tablisse le chant de l&rsquo;All\u00e9luia pendant toute l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e, except\u00e9s le temps du Car\u00eame et l&rsquo;office des morts <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude4f\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/td9\/1.5\/16\/1f64f.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chant\u00e9 par la schola et par les fid\u00e8les, l&rsquo;All\u00e9luia est suivi par un verset prit dans le lectionnaire, ou bien, si l&rsquo;on utilise le r\u00e9pertoire gr\u00e9gorien, par un verset de psaume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au temps du car\u00eame, l&rsquo;All\u00e9luia est remplac\u00e9 par un simple verset, pris lui aussi au lectionnaire, et accompagn\u00e9 par un refrain repris par l&rsquo;assembl\u00e9e. \u00c0 la place de ce verset, l&rsquo;usage gr\u00e9gorien remplace l&rsquo;all\u00e9luia par le \u00ab\u00a0trait\u00a0\u00bb. Pour la messe du jour de No\u00ebl, par exemple, c&rsquo;est l&rsquo;admirable prologue de l&rsquo;\u00c9vangile johannique qui est lu. Pour le Vendredi Saint l&rsquo;on entend la Passion selon St Jean. Ou bien encore pendant les dimanches du temps Pascal, la liturgie propose plusieurs passages tir\u00e9s de l&rsquo;\u00c9vangile de l&rsquo;ap\u00f4tre bien-aim\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab L&rsquo;\u00c9vangile est la bouche du Christ. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, nous entendons le cantique de la Bienheureuse Vierge Marie <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83c\udfb6\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t1f\/1\/16\/1f3b6.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>R\u00e9pondant \u00e0 la salutation de sa cousine \u00c9lisabeth, la Vierge Marie fait monter vers Dieu son cantique de reconnaissance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces <a><\/a>versets 46 \u00e0 55 du premier chapitre de l&rsquo;\u00e9vangile de Saint Luc forment ce cantique auquel la liturgie a donn\u00e9 le nom de \u00ab\u00a0Magnificat\u00a0\u00bb, car c&rsquo;est le premier mot de sa version latine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parce qu&rsquo;il est un chant d&rsquo;action de gr\u00e2ce, la liturgie latine a fait de ce cantique le sommet de l&rsquo;office du soir que l&rsquo;on appelle \u00ab\u00a0v\u00eapres\u00a0\u00bb. Alors que la journ\u00e9e s&rsquo;ach\u00e8ve, c&rsquo;est par ces paroles pleines de reconnaissance et de joie que l&rsquo;\u00c9glise rend gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 Dieu pour ses dons <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude4f\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t80\/1\/16\/1f64f.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et parce que ces paroles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 prononc\u00e9es par Celle qui a port\u00e9 en son sein le Fils de Dieu, la liturgie entoure le chant du Magnificat de plusieurs signes d&rsquo;honneur : on se l\u00e8ve pour le chanter, on se signe \u00e0 ses premiers mots, et c&rsquo;est \u00e0 ce moment qu&rsquo;on encense l&rsquo;autel lorsque les v\u00eapres sont c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9es solennellement <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83c\udfb6\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t1f\/1\/16\/1f3b6.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfin, le ton employ\u00e9 pour le chanter est toujours plus d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 que celui du reste de l&rsquo;office : si les psaumes sont les bourgeons, le Magnificat, lui, est la fleur qui \u00e9clos dans le nouveau testament.
